About us

Over the last 10 years we had our ‘rent a mountain bike’ in Belgium. Now it’s time for us to start another adventure. Us that means; Francis from Belgium (French part), Astrid (the Netherlands) and our 2 children Alex (5 years) and Sarah (1 year)
Our choice to continue to work with tourism was normal and we would like to welcome our guests in our house. We will also continue the rent a mountain bike and we organize other activities. That’s why last summer we went to France to search a new place for us. We went in a lot of spaces but the place we liked much more was Labesserette in the Châtaigneraie, the most southern part of the Cantal (Auvergne) with very friendly people.
In these Châtaigneraie, 25 km at the south of Aurillac, at 10 minutes from the Gorges du Lot, we started now our Domaine de la Grangeotte with a holiday house (gîte) for, voor 2 à 4 persons. We still have the rent a mountain bike here in Labesserette and we organize incentives etc. We also have a few B&B and we would like to welcome people at the campsite that we are going to make with view at the lake. In our bar and Salon de thé with housmaked cakes etc you can meet people of our village and try some local products.
Labesserette is a part from the Communauté des Communes of Montsalvy. A little town at 7 km from Labesserette. In Montsalvy you have a supermarket, 2 bakeries’, a butcher, a few pubs and restaurants, a library and the post office. Every Thursday there is a market in Montsalvy.
The Châtaigneraie is a good place for different activities and leisure. Castles, walking, biking, kayak on the Lot, but also gastronomic trips can make of your stay an unforgettable holiday.  Do you already try a real Aligot or Truffade? What do you think about the different cheeses here in the Cantal or an alcoholic drink Chataigne? A trip to the nearest department Aveyron is very interesting. And you have to visit Conques. Other old villages, brocantes etc…
